Elemental Reactions Explained

Reactions are the core of Genshin's damage system. Knowing amplifying vs transformative tells you which stats to stack.

Amplifying Reactions (scale with ATK & multipliers)

• Vaporize / Melt: multiply the triggering hit by 1.5× or 2×.
• Stat plan: your DPS stacks Elemental DMG Bonus + Crit + ATK; the trigger just applies the element.
• Key rule: make sure the highest-multiplier hit triggers the reaction, not a random chip hit.

Transformative Reactions (scale with level & EM only)

• Overloaded / Electro-Charged / Superconduct / Shatter / Swirl: damage depends on the trigger's level and Elemental Mastery — no crit, no ATK scaling.
• Stat plan: stack Elemental Mastery, not crit. Best on off-field trigger units.

Team Building Around a Reaction

1. Pick one core reaction (Vaporize, Electro-Charged, Bloom...).
2. Main DPS provides frequent element application or the big multiplier hit.
3. Sub-DPS and supports trigger consistently and buff (ER, EM, resistance shred).
4. Use elemental resonance to round out the team (Pyro +ATK, Anemo -stamina, Hydro +ER...).
